The show will begin on Friday with a Patron Preview Party, Artist Reception and Awards Presentation, and remain open to the public on Saturday and Sunday.

Judges
Donna Parsons spent 20 years as a designer at Providence Picture Frame and 10 years as curator and director of Dryden Gallery in Providence before retiring from her position to pursue her own online business Donna Parsons Gallery. Donna has combined her education in Studio Fine Art and Art History at Rhode Island College, a business model which offers quality original work and the talent and trust of local artists to present a unique online gallery.
Rosanne Somerson is a designer and professor and academic leader who has been advancing art and design for decades. After launching a successful studio design practice, she returned to RISD to teach and then founded the Furniture Design Department before serving as Provost, interim President, RISD’s 17th President, and now President Emerita. An author and subject of many podcasts, she frequently speaks and writes about the power of art and design as core elements of critical thinking and making. She maintains a studio and consulting creative practice, designing and creating furniture for exhibitions and commissions. Somerson is included in the Smithsonian’s Archives of American Art Oral History Project and has been awarded many honors during her career.
Debra Valeri graduated from Rhode Island School of Design in 1982 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration. Her early career as an illustrator began with both freelance and staff positions at advertising agencies and manufacturers. In 1988 she acquired her MA Teacher’s Certification from the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth. In the next five years that followed she taught high school level art while while spending the summers painting and teaching Illustration at Rhode Island School of Design Summer Sessions. She now focuses on painting oil landscapes full time and her work is always on display at her Meadowbrook Studio gallery.

Patron Registration
Patrons are invited to view the juried show ahead of the general public on Friday, July19th from 5:00–6:30PM. The Artists’ reception will follow from 6:30–8:00PM, during which awards will be announced.
A limited number of tickets are available to the Patron Preview Party.
