Head Chef & Kitchen Manager

Compensation:
Status: Part-time 20-25 hours, non-exempt
Purpose: The Head Cook at the Little Compton Community Center oversees the operation and implementation of the Senior Lunch Program.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop a monthly menu to provide the community of Little Compton well balanced meals every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, in addition to special occasions as needed (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Summer Concert Series in annually August etc)
Execute the preparation of all meals, including the procurement of groceries and paper products as required, in an efficient and cost effective manner
Supervise staff and volunteers as required
Maintain food safety certification and food logs as required by the Rhode Island Department of Health
Maintain log of allergies and food restrictions, and adapt meals as needed
Maintain log of special occasions for constituents (birthdays, anniversaries) and provide recognition as appropriate
Make use of donated items wherever possible/allowable, rotate stock accordingly
Ensure grant requirements are being met regarding collaboration with the After School Care Program
Launder dish towels once/week
Foster a joyful and upbeat atmosphere
Pay is commensurate with experience
Requirements:
Food safety certification
Excellent written and verbal communication
Work well in a team-oriented environment and ability to work independently, managing multiple priorities
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet multiple deadlines
Commitment to serving the needs of those in our community
Proven experience working with time sensitive material and the ability to constantly establish priorities and meet multiple deadlines
High level of proficiency in Google Suite or willingness to learn
