Mission Statement: Since 1997, the Little Compton Community Center has been providing education, recreational, social and cultural enrichment to our community. 

Reports to: Executive Director, works closely with the Programs Manager

Status: Fulltime, exempt

The Little Compton Community Center is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Full-Time Chef and Kitchen Manager to lead our food-centric programs and events, with a primary focus on our popular Senior Lunch Program. This is a unique opportunity to use your culinary expertise without the demanding restaurant hours!

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Approx. $58,240 Annual Salary (~$28/hour, when broken down)

What You'll Be Cooking:

Working alongside a part-time kitchen assistant and a dedicated team of volunteers, you will be responsible for diverse meal preparation and kitchen management:

  • Senior Lunch Program: Lead the creation of nutritious, delicious meals every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

  • Youth & Family: Prep snacks for our After School Club and prepare a monthly family-style dinner for our Circle of Friends program.

  • Special Events: Support seasonal programs (ex. Soup’s On, Trivia Night, and Take’N’Bake Pizzas) and annual signature events (including but not limited to Fall Fest, Veteran’s Dinner, Art Gala, Golf Outing and the Memorial Day Cookout).

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Creating and maintaining the monthly Senior Luncheon menu.

  • Managing all food & supply ordering, shopping, and inventory.

  • Maintaining commercial kitchen permits and licensing and ensuring strict compliance with all health and safety requirements.

  • Managing the budget for the kitchen.

Who We're Looking For:

You are an ideal candidate if you have a positive, can-do attitude and professional kitchen experience in a restaurant, senior center, catering, or similar setting. You are adaptable, possess strong managerial skills, thrive working with volunteers, enjoy working as a team and have a natural rapport with the older population we primarily serve.
